SYSOUT Parameter • SYSOUT is used to route output to a device. • SYSOUT parameter is used to direct the output that is generated during execution of a job to an output device. • SYSOUT parameter in DD statement is an indication that the data set should be processed by JES2/JES3. • The output class associated with the data set is specified by the SYSOUT parameter. • Example: //DDNAME DD SYSOUT=CLASS //DDNAME DD SYSOUT=X Here output is routed to class X which is spooler. • The asterisk(*) in the SYSOUT parameter asks the system to use the same output class specified in the MSGCLASS parameter of the JOB statement. • If you want to send the output to the same device described by MSGCLASS of the job use. //DDNAME DD SYSOUT=* |
