ADDRSPC parameter • It specifies the type of address space that is to be used by the step. • It can be either VIRT (i.e., Virtual Address space) or REAL (i.e, Real Address space). • Example: //STEP1 EXEC PGM=ABCD,ADDRSPC=VIRT //STEP1 EXEC PGM=HOME,ADDRSPC=REAL • VIRT is the default value for ADDRSPC parameter. • The JOB statement ADDRSPC will override all the EXEC statement ADDRSPC values. VIRT - Memory pages can be paged/swapped REAL - Memory pages cannot be paged/swapped • VIRT for virtual address space (which can be paged/swapped) or REAL for real address space (which cannot be paged/swapped). • The ADDRSPC parameter coded in the JOB statement applies to all the job steps. • It can also be coded in the EXEC statement of the job step. |
